They will get about £12-15m for him which would decent considering his age and peanuts to a “Prem” club for a player that’s ready made and will come into the team immediately. Sell on value or not.

That goal against Leicester was class such a composed finish. Don’t think their is any fluke about his season.

Define "decent fee".
How much would Blackburn be looking for?
Would other clubs be willing to meet that amount for a player who:

-is 29 in September, (no resale value).
-has 3 years left on his contract.
-has never had a season like this before at any level (has played 3 seasons in L1 & 3 seasons in L2)
-This is his 3rd season in the Championship, so would he take 3 seasons to adapt to the Premier League too?
There's plenty good Championship goalscorers who don't make the step up at all.

If they get relegated this season, sure, they'll sell him.
If not, it might be worth more to keep him and either make a promotion run (if they get their sh*t together), or simply help them avoid relegation again.

They sold Brereton-Diaz last summer, at the age of 24, to Villarreal for £16m, off the back of 2 good seasons:
2022/23- 14 goals, 4 assists in 43 apps
2021/22- 22 goals, 3 assists in 37 apps

They sold Adam Armstrong, at age 24, to Southampton for £17m, again off the back of 2 very good seasons:
2020/21- 28 goals, 5 assists in 40 apps
2019/20- 16 goals, 6 assists in 46 apps

This season Armstrong has 20 goals, 13 assists in 43 apps, but his 2 seasons in the Premier League were poor:
2022/23- 2 goals, 1 assist in 30 apps
2021/22- 2 goals, 2 assists in 23 apps

They won't get anything like £16m for Szmodics, maybe not even half, so is it actually worth it to sell him?

He'll have resale value if he scores goals in the Premier League, teams don't ignore attackers who can score just because they're within a couple of years of turning 30. Any lower end Premier League team will be looking at Szmodics, what happens after that is up to him.
We're decent enough..

Yes, you're right. Market value was £16m.

I'm not so sure about that. He signed a new contract in November, taking him up to 2026 (with +1 year option).

Blackburn would want a fairly big fee (replacing 30+goals won't be cheap), but considering he turns 29 in September there won't be many clubs putting down big money for a player with no resale value.

Might be worth more to Blackburn to keep him, if they can build the squad around him he could help them get promoted.

No chance he stays.  Club is financially f**ked and they will sell him.  Also will be in L1 next season the form they are in.

He will be signed for someone like Leicesteror Leeds etc or Luton (if they stay up)

Brentford,Bournemouth or Palace would be my thinking. Would prefer Brentford just for how stable they are.

You’d hope he doesn’t go to a newly promoted club as the chances of going back down are very high and they tend to be pretty unstable.

Least we have this lad in our set up now. A big positive of the last window.
