This is to play for your country. Simple as that. It should be a very very easy decision if there is a choice. This 'toughest decision' business is horsesh1te, as I said this isint a choice between 2 clubs. If he wants to play for England then fine, but don't be wasting peoples time playing to the galleries while sitting on the fence like its a difficult decision.

Simple as that if you only have one country

Ah come on Shoco. Thats a bit naive. He isint faced with a choice so much as he is faced with a dillema. It is simple, he wants to play for England, we wouldnt be having this conversation if he didn't. But the commitment he made to Ireland is standing in the way of that. He may stay with Ireland but will it be what his heart wants.

Interesting that all of the talk on UK social media today is whether he will sign a new contract with West Ham, not whether he will declare for England.

People are nearly forgetting how big the English talent pool is and how Rice declaring for England would only be a very minor story for them compared to the big story for us of him quitting the Irish team.

That article convinces me even more that he's gone. He's described it as "the toughest decision of his career". I'd consider it the toughest decision of someone's life..

The fact that he's looking at it from a career perspective means it's England all the way.

It's the hope that kills you LOL

There is no chance of him coming back to Ireland ffs

Once he pulled out of the squad his decision was made.
He may be ‘reflecting’ on that decision but I can’t see him playing for Ireland again.

#Decxit is right!

The oul lad sounds like hes a big man for the Rebs alright!! Keep them blaring Jack Lad!

"you" don't want him, plenty of us would love to have him back.

He hasn't actually left us yet. He is still an Ireland player and has been nearly 4 years now.

I'm well aware. I would love to have him back in the squad was what I was getting at, as you well know.
