From this interview, and what MON has said in public, the aul lad seems sounds like a very patriotic irishman. That'd be really the only thing giving you a bit hope but it sounds like the club, the new agent and the Southgate have turned his head.

#Decxit is right!

Seriously tho he’s gone, and is a massive loss. He’s gonna have an excellent career

Would be amazing if he did that LOL

Agreed. Absolutely would love him to play for us but just don't see it happening though. Of course he is far more likely to become an Irish legend if he was to stay but there are just too many financial benefits on offer for a player once they get the magic 1 England cap.

He hasn't actually left us yet. He is still an Ireland player and has been nearly 4 years now.

Could we not get Penneys to sponsor him ?

I'm well aware. I would love to have him back in the squad was what I was getting at, as you well know.

There is no chance of him coming back to Ireland ffs

Once he pulled out of the squad his decision was made.
He may be ‘reflecting’ on that decision but I can’t see him playing for Ireland again.

That article convinces me even more that he's gone. He's described it as "the toughest decision of his career". I'd consider it the toughest decision of someone's life..

The fact that he's looking at it from a career perspective means it's England all the way.

What does he think is picking ... a club ffs.

This is to play for your country. Simple as that. It should be a very very easy decision if there is a choice. This 'toughest decision' business is horsesh1te, as I said this isint a choice between 2 clubs. If he wants to play for England then fine, but don't be wasting peoples time playing to the galleries while sitting on the fence like its a difficult decision.
