I don't think we're playing that badly considering the calibre of opponent and gap in the rankings - it's a decentish performance, certainly not 'terrible' anyway.

We are not capable of putting 3-4 passes together versus this calibre of opposition. So we should be playing ball's down the channels looking to win set pieces and throw ins..... especially now Campbell is on the pitch.
Vera knew how to play against this type of opponent

France beat us 3-0 last year.

I think we've been a lot better in this half than the first - better organised and even trying to break a few times.

They had flashes of attacking threat, and if Kiernan had seen McCabe it would have been a tap in. But they could very easily put 4 or more past us. Mixed feelings about the performance overall but I think they can build. England Tuesday could be really interesting with them dropping points to Sweden

Interesting to hear that there is a tradition now that every new member of the squad (whether born in Ireland or not) learns all the words of the anthem immediately and is ready to sing it right from the get go (seems very good as a team bonding thing).

WU19s qualified for the Euros today, beating Austria 1-0. Beat Iceland 4-1 earlier in the week having been 0-1 down at half time.
Great achievement.

Dead rubber vs Croatia on Tuesday.
-----------------------------------------

Game vs France last night went generally how you'd expect. Did well defensively for the most part except for the goal, that's a poor one to give away. Early nerves, and 3 competitive debuts, I suppose.

Lack of composure in possession & sloppy passing was our main undoing. At the end of the 1st half O'Sullivan had a chance to play Carusa in with a through ball, but way over hit it. Another occasion the ball dropped to her (DOS) at the edge of the box but she had a poor touch and the chance to shoot was gone.

Kiernan not squaring to McCabe in the second half another instance.

Need to sort that stuff out for the England game. Farrelly a real miss in that regard.

Thought Mannion struggled in the first half at LWB, not sure she's ever played there. But then I thought she was excellent in the second half at RWB. Much more defensively solid than Payne. A real option there going forward.

yeah great to see all the players singing the anthem, some of the men take note....ya need that bit of fire just before ko....
Ya also need a brass band or choir  whether it be live or backing track....this idea of an individual singer does nothing for what an anthem is about and what it brings to such an occasion.......

Overly negative tactics giving France the easiest 1-0 they'll have. 5-4-1 with basically no outlet to relieve any pressure. This is the evolution from the Pauw era?

What little pressure that was brought to bear was wasted as players panicked when in good positions.

And it's never a good sign when you are 1-0 down and your players are getting booked for time-wasting! Kiernan was about the only bright spark when she came on as she brought a bit of energy to the game.

It'll be a long campaign if the team is going to show such deference to the opposition, doesn't put them under any kind of pressure and refuses to take some risks.

Has there been any injury updates from the squad? Thought there might have been word about Payne or Barrett after they were subbed off

I saw a figure of around 30,000 either Thursday or Friday from the supporters club page on Instagram, haven't seen that on the FAI pages or anything yet

I’m out in Dubrovnik for this one. None of the bars are showing the game. Any ideas/options?

RTE Player with a VPN most likely, either ITV or BBC should be showing it as well
