There was an Athletic article which went through his passion for Gaelic football and trials with Ireland. Doesn't look like he's too interested in us now

Christopher Atherton, now at Chelsea, made his debut for Glenavon a couple of years ago when he was 13, breaking the previous UK record held by Eamon Collins who got his first game at Blackpool aged 14. He and his father are Celtic fans and his dad was on the books at Hearts as a youth. He seems embedded in the NI underage set-up now as Conor Bradley was, they pull out all the stops when they see a stellar talent, but who knows what the future will bring. Man Utd and other PL clubs wanted him but he chose Chelsea. He remains eligible also for Scotland through his dad as well as Ireland.

Has anyone mentioned on the 453 pages of this thread ever won a senior cap for us?

Hi school was at patricks...another conor bradley,

At 15 you don't know if he's gonna be Conor Bradley, Conor Masterson or Conor Clifford

Wish him well, if he wants to play for us he'd be welcomed
Dont argue with stupid people, they'll only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

He's no different from Szmodics, Robinson or Will Keane to name a few in our recent team.

Szmodics never played for anyone else.
The other two I don't like seeing in our jersey either.

But there's always plenty like you around with the mouth open and the tongue out to welcome these bast ards who'd be checking the England score at half time in an Irish dressing room. Phone on silent in the bag.

Jaysus lad, calm down a bit. Szmodics didn't play for England because he wasn't good enough when he was underage, no other reason. They get picked for Ireland, I support them as long as they give it their all. Ogbene was quite vocal about playing for Nigeria rather than Ireland for years too but he's no less Irish or commited as a result.

It's a global society we live in and dual-nationality is very common, especially for a country with such a wide dispora. We got to our two World Cups with a group featuring commited, Britsh born players.

Alex Murphy ?

Had him categorised more as a left back in my head but yes, him too! More lefty CBs the better.

I'd be inclined, Pinginí, to give time to your two & my one ahead of some recently tactically Irish suddenly in his mid 20s journeyman with an extensive three lions back story.

Another center half is exactly what we need!

When the devil got a hold of me,
He wouldn't set me free,
So he kept me soul for ransom.

Celtic looking at this guy. QPR centre half. Age 26.
From wiki - "Jake Clarke-Salter was born in England, and is of Irish descent through a grandmother, and is eligible to represent both countries internationally"

I wonder why he's never been looked at if he is eligible. One of the unsung heroes at Newcastle under Howe.
