Also worth noting we conceded from every shot on target. It seems once the opposition has a shot on target v Liverpool it has a very good chance of going in

Mane has been sorely missed and should have been addressed at the start of January. Is there a reason teams wait till the last minute to do business when surely they would be better off having these players in from early on
Its very frustrating being a Slob

Didn't see the match but did Klopp bring on Matip to lump up long balls to him?

How has normal serviced resumed

They've been in the top 2 for the vast majority of the season .

Meanwhile United drop points to Stoke and are still behind Liverpool

Klopps fault today. Decided that he could go with the inferior Klavan to the clearly better Matip. First of all, that's being complacent. It's sending out the wrong message. If Pool had Cup final today, Matip would have started.
He hasn't been injured. He's the best rested player in the club. Klopp said they had prepared for Swansea with no Matip in mind. So ?
He's available. He's better. Surely the tactics weren't going to be so different if he played his better player. He's not a new player to the squad who is unfamiliar with Klopps way of playing.
Yes, they still should have beaten Swansea but Liverpool are not that good defensively that they can leave out their best defender.
Diarmuid Connolly found out at 3am the morning of the AI Semi final that he was not banned anymore. He started the match hours later.
Wenger did this sh*te in Arsenals opening fixture. He rested his players that played in the Euros. And they lost. He brought them on too late in the game to change it.
Likewise Klopp brought Matip on today with minutes to spare.
Arrogance from Klopp. If if he didn't intend to be.
Play your best team when your Liverpool and haven't 2 30million pound players for every position.

Agree with all that, think it was just complacency and Klopps faith in the players he trusts. He obviously has plenty of trust in Klavan. Personally I think he's a walking calamity. With the other results today those 3 points dropped will hit hard. Liverpool would have been in a great position.

The loss of Mane is huge as there is no like for like replacement. I agree with Gav about needing new players in, but I think Klopp won't spend big money just for the few months cover. He'll only buy a player as part of the overall long term plan unless it's a short term loan.

As said Klavan should be nowhere near the first 11. Also Henderson, especially first half was very, very poor.
Firmino was quality, as always this season. Turning into one of my favourite players to watch. The sooner Mane is back the better, he's been a far bigger loss than Coutinho

Agree with the general sentiment about the decision not to go with Matip - thought it was mental myself. Especially with a striker like Llorente to deal with it - Matip would have handled him a whole lot better.

Liverpool just look a different side with Mane - seem to move the ball so much slower without him sprinting around and making space for others. Also surprised how under-utilised Sturridge has been throughout January. Swansea at home seemed like the perfect game to give him a start and get his confidence up but maybe he's just not doing it in training these days.

Liverpool's small squad will be their downfall for a title challenge and it's proving so the last few games.

Liverpool finishing in the top 4 should be seen as a successful season imo, with the light squad and lack of quality in defence and sh*te goalkeepers top 4 would be a great achievement.

Bad performance all round and got what they deserved unfortunately. Squad definitely needs strengthening and needs it in this window as hard as it might be to get the players in. Can was atrocious and has been that way a lot of games this season. Winning the league was always a huge longshot but Top 4 isn't so need to get things back on track, strengthen the squad and start picking up points again asap. Chelsea up next, definitely a must-win game. If we beat them and Arsenal did the same the following week it pulls it all back together

I've seen a lot of Liverpool this season and at the start was surprised how good Mane was. He's that weird and unpredicatable player that is very hard to deal with plus he's one fast f**ker.

When he is back with Coutinhio, Firminhio and Lallana they will start tanking teams again. I'd expect them to finish 2nd and a long long way behind Chelsea

All teams have had to play for is top 4 once Chelsea went on their winning run.
