Huge game for Madrid tonight.

Beaten in the Round of 16 for the past 6 seasons running. Juve, Arsenal, Liverpool, Lyon, Bayern and Roma have beaten them each year since their win against Bayern Munich in 2004.

Last European Cup win was against Leverkusen in Hampden back in 2002. Hard to believe with the quality they've had, and they haven't come near to winning it.

But with Mourinho at the helm will he end Madrid's mini drought. He ended Inter's 50 year European drought. I'd put my house on them beating Lyon over two legs anyway.

Both managers with nearly full squads to choose from, bar the long term absentee Higuain for Madrid and possibly Pepe. Lisandro will be missing for Lyon unfortunately. Huge player for them.

1-2 Madrid is my prediction for tonight. Live on Setanta Ireland and Sky Sports 4.

This should be an entertaining game. These two have played each other a few times and Lyon knocked them out last year. The last 4 results between them have been:
 
Real Madrid 1 - 1 Lyon
Lyon 1 - 0 Real Madrid
Real Madrid 2 - 2 Lyon
Lyon 2 - 0 Real Madrid

It looks like they are alright over the last few matches. Real really should have knocked them out last year. They had countless chances in the Bernabau, Benzema's springs to mind straight away, a miss he hasn't recovered from. And a miss that ended Pellegrini's stay at Madrid and their season.

Lyon are missing lisandro Lopez tonight which is a huge loss to Lyon cause they are awful without him! Madrid to nick it 1-0

Alright first half.

Lyon have had the better of it Gourcuff pulling the strings for them but Real staying pretty strong. Kaka needs to come on Ozil, Adebayor and Ronaldo have been poor.
